MONTA Heads to Windup Watch Fair Chicago

After having a fantastic time at this year’s edition of Wind Up San Francisco in April, the MONTA crew will be heading up to the “Windy City” for Worn & Wound’s first-ever Windup Watch Fair Chicago!

The Midwest is home to a number of independent watch brands - including MONTA - and the region also boasts a passionate community of watch collectors and enthusiasts. Worn & Wound has been wanting to have a Windup Watch Fair event in Chicago for quite a while now, but the pandemic had delayed those plans until just this year.

As the very first edition of Windup Chicago, the inaugural event is guaranteed to be a special occasion, so join us for three solid days packed full of fun times, fantastic watches, and wonderful people.

About Windup Windup Watch Chicago 2022

While this will be the very first Windup Watch Fair Chicago, the event itself has been a long-time in the making. Originally planned for 2020 but delayed due to the pandemic, Chicago marks the Windup Watch Fair’s first regional expansion in five years. Along with MONTA, there will be over 40 brands participating in the event, which will give those attending the opportunity to try on and experience countless different watches from small-scale independent brands and speak directly with the people behind the companies themselves.

Just like all other Windup Watch Fair events, Windup Chicago will be completely free to attend and open to the public. The event itself will be hosted in the West Loop neighborhood at 221 N Paulina Street and will run from July 15 through July 17th, 2022, with the doors opening at noon each day.

For fans of independent watch brands, rarely are there opportunities to try on the various models that you are considering, let alone to have dozens of different companies' offerings all available in one single place. The New York and San Francisco Windup events are highlights for collectors in their respective regions each year, and now the Midwest finally gets its very own Windup Watch Fair.

Windup Chicago 2022 Key Details:

Windup Chicago 2022 is a three-day event for watch collectors and enthusiasts that is scheduled to take place from Friday, July 15th through Sunday, July 17th at Venue West in the West Loop neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois.

• Saturday 7/16 - 12:00pm - 6:00pm
• Sunday 7/17 - 12:00pm - 5:00pm

Celebrating Independent Watch Brands

One of the unique aspects of Worn & Wound’s Windup Watch Fair events is that they place an emphasis on independent watch brands, rather than the big-name manufactures that you see at your local malls and jewelry stores. Many of these small-scale watch companies are run by passionate collectors and enthusiasts, and shows like Windup provide a platform for customers to directly connect with the people behind their favorite brands and get hands-on experience with watches that they may not encounter anywhere else. 

Additionally, unlike trade shows or traditional retailer-focused exhibitions, Windup Watch Fair is a consumer-oriented shopping event that is completely free to attend and open to the public. This means that anyone with a love of watches is welcome to show up, and if you do happen to fall in love with one of the various brand’s models, you will have the opportunity to purchase it right there on the spot, directly from the company exhibiting at the show.
